These garments were a part of two assignments in my Fashion Technology class. Students were given the patterns to make the garments, however, I was permitted to modify aspects of the pattern including the buttons, zippers, fabrics, pockets, hems, and any other additional features. My inspiration for this set stemmed from 1980s power suits and the skirts of the 1940s. I modified the pencil skirt to resemble a design from 1943 by Molyneux with six pockets, patch and double welt, the additional hip flaps or makeshift peplums add functionality and style to a dated pencil skirt.
