The AMON story begins just after the end of WW2. My Oma, Hermine Amon, worked as a seamstress in Austria during Russian occupation and passed her expertise down to her children. My father, her youngest son, moved to the United States to pursue his doctorate. It was at University that he met my mother, who also happened to have a family full of sewists.

As a child, I was taught how to use a needle and thread to create simple stuffed animals and clothes for my dolls. Eventually, I graduated to the sewing machine, where many lessons were learned and mistakes made.
Growing up with the steady noise of a Singer, it was a natural progression that I took on a particular interest in designing the clothes I was making. In 2020, I realized that I had no desire to be anything but a fashion designer. Shortly after my revelation, the dream that is AMON was born.

Although, neither of my parents pursued a creative career, they both greatly influenced my perspective of the world through science. The reality of the climate crisis was taught early in my life, therefore it is only natural that this concern applies to the world of fashion.

As a designer, it is my goal to pursue innovation and to make an impact on the industry through artistry, awareness, and sustainable practices.
